Coursework through APCS for pastoral counselors includes:
The Theories and Therapies of Cognitive and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapies (C/REBT): An Integrated Pastoral Model;
Diagnosing and Treating Depression and Other Mood Disorders: An Integrated Pastoral Model;
Diagnosing and Treating Anxiety Disorders (Panic Disorders, Phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder): An Integrated Pastoral Model;
Diagnosing and Treating Chemical Abuse and Dependency: An Integrated Pastoral Model; and
a ten week Practicum of Pastoral Counseling and Supervision which uses your ministry setting assisting in a collegial fashion counseling consultation and setting-up your practice complete with forms and guidance for licensure and certification. As with the tutorials, this is done face to face via webcam. If you already “surf the net” all you need in addition is a webcam and a free email address at Yahoo. Persons in the South Bend, Indiana area will be invited to come to my office in the TowerBuilding.
